The University wishes to fill the position:

Established Professor of Applied Mathematics

Applications are particularly welcome from candidates with expertise in mathematical modelling arising in, for example, scientific, engineering, social or financial sciences contexts.

Preference will be given to candidates with research interests that relate to the strategic goals and thematic priorities of the University (http://www.nuigalway.ie/research/) and have the potential to interact with specific Research Institutes (http://www.nuigalway.ie/research/) within the University [such as NCBES, ECI and MRI] as well as Research Institutes within the region.

The post will be held in the newly established School of Mathematics, Statistics & Applied Mathematics within the College of Science.

Closing date for receipt of applications is at 5.00 p.m. on Friday, 3rd April 2009.
